“ Do you help with disability registration for persons abroad?” we received a request from a client.

Since the client had the status of a person with disability of group I before, and the validity period of such a document had expired, it became necessary to resubmit documents for evaluation.

Due to the fact that the procedure for registering disability has changed, it was worth understanding which of the degrees of functional impairment of a person the patient’s health condition would correspond to, in accordance with the criteria for establishing disability. Thus, the consultation format was agreed upon.

Stages of registration of lifelong disability

Stage 1 – ANALYSIS OF DOCUMENTS AND CONSULTATION

Initially, we established the need to translate and notarize medical information indicating the presence of diseases in the client, since the following were in a foreign language.

After that, the lawyer analyzed the materials and found that there were grounds for referring the client for assessment and disability determination.

Stage 2 – RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUPPORT DURING THE COLLECTION OF UPDATED MEDICAL DOCUMENTS

The lawyer provided an examination plan, within the framework of which the patient received updated information that established direct compliance with the criteria for establishing disability, confirmed the impact of the disease, which significantly limits her life activities, and made it possible to proceed to the next stage.

Stage 3 – DOCUMENTS WERE SUBMITTED TO THE ECOPFO

After checking the correctness of the prepared materials, the procedure for submitting documents was agreed.

A specialist was selected – a family doctor, who reviewed all medical information and properly prepared a package of documents for sending them to a medical institution.

The administrator of the medical institution EKOPFO accepted the documents and provided an invitation for an assessment with the specified date and time of the examination in the format of telemedicine.

Stage 4 – CONSULTATION ON PREPARATION FOR THE EKOPFO EXAMINATION

All the details of the examination were discussed with the client, possible questions and answers for which it is worth preparing in advance.

During the assessment, the lawyer was in contact with the patient, which gave the opportunity to respond to questions from representatives of the expert team and add information that interested them.
