Obtaining a tax identification number (TIN) for a foreigner in Ukraine
The presence of the taxpayer registration card number is an important condition for the implementation of certain types of activities, both by citizens of Ukraine and by non-residents. From 1994 to 2012, this document was officially called Tax Identification Number (TIN). In everyday life, this old name is still often used.
Obtaining a TIN for a foreigner is provided with a certain algorithm of actions, which is regulated by the Regulation on the registration of individuals in the State register of individuals, approved by order of the Ministry of Finance No. 82 dated September 29, 2017. What documents must be collected for a foreign citizen to obtain a TIN?

Documents are submitted to the territorial body of the State Fiscal Service (SFS) at the place of residence of the foreigner. The package is:
- a copy of the passport (birth certificate – for minors);

- a notarized translation of the passport into Ukrainian;
- an application for a TIN according to the form;
- a copy of the residence permit, upon availability.
