Features of crossing the Moldovan state border: information for refugees
After the start of the full-scale war, the procedure for crossing the Moldovan state border by Ukrainians was significantly simplified. Adults need only an identity document (ID card, passport). Minors will also need: Birth certificate. If minors do not have documents, but are accompanied by their parents, they will be able to cross the border, but they will need to go through a formal procedure at the Moldovan Border Police. If a minor is accompanied by one parent, the Moldovan side does not need a statement of consent from the other parent.
Important: even if an adult citizen of Ukraine does not have a passport, he has the right to declare his need for protection and asylum at the border.
