What is a bribe in Ukrainian legislation?

What is the punishment for bribery?
Punishment for bribery is provided for by Articles 368 and 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Acceptance of an offer, promise or unlawful benefit by an official”.
Depending on the severity of the crime, the law provides for different penalties:
- Fine.
- Seizure of property.
- Arrest.
- Deprivation of liberty.
- Prohibition to hold certain positions / engage in certain activities.
Punishment for bribery in accordance with Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Fine from 1,000 to 4,000 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (hereinafter referred to as NMDG), arrest from 3 to 6 months, imprisonment for a period of 2 to 4 years.
- For illegal benefit in a significant amount (100 or more times higher than the NMDG) – imprisonment for a period of 3 to 6 years with a ban on holding certain positions.
- For unlawful benefit committed by an official on a large scale (200 or more times the NMDG), or by prior conspiracy of a group of persons – imprisonment for a period of 5 to 10 years, confiscation of property, a ban on holding certain positions.
- Illegal benefit on an especially large scale (500 or more times more than the NMDG) – imprisonment for a period of 8 to 12 years, with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to engage in certain activities (up to 3 years).
