The service of legal support for the procedure for obtaining a temporary residence permit in Ukraine on any grounds provided for by law is provided by migration law specialists “Prikhodko & Partners” quite often, because against the background of total groundless refusals of the migration service in matters of issuing a temporary residence permit – people turn to specialists immediately, trying to anticipate the negative consequences in the form of a refusal to issue a permit, trying to support themselves with legal support.
We bring to your attention a vivid example of providing a service in the form of support for the Client on the issue of obtaining a temporary residence permit in Ukraine on the basis of volunteer activity.
Practical component of the case
In January 2025, an Estonian citizen contacted the company “Prikhodko & Partners”, who, while staying in Ukraine under the visa-free regime (within 90 days), expressed a desire to obtain a temporary residence permit in Ukraine on the basis of volunteer activities. As of the date of his application, he was a volunteer for one of the charitable organizations in Ukraine and was engaged in providing various assistance to the front and the Ukrainian military.
Since Estonia is one of the countries that must have a visa of the appropriate category in order to obtain a temporary residence permit, migration law lawyer Tetiana Petryk prepared documents for obtaining a “D” visa on the basis of volunteering in Ukraine.
When the Client returned to Ukraine with a visa, documents were submitted to the migration service authorities for the issuance of the permit. After 15 working days – the Client received a ready-made temporary residence permit and continued his volunteer activities. Within the established time, he registered his place of residence in Ukraine.
Stages of providing the service:
- study of the grounds and legal analysis of the foreigner’s documents;
- preparation of a package of documents for obtaining a D visa by a foreigner for subsequent registration of a temporary residence permit in Ukraine;
- obtaining a D visa at the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia by a foreigner;
- arrival in Ukraine on a visa;
- preparation of documents for submission to the migration authorities in order to obtain a permit on the basis of volunteering;
- accompaniment of the Client to the illegal migration department on the issue of passing the check of the presence or absence of grounds for refusal to issue a permit;
- obtaining a permit;
- registration of the place of residence.
It should be remembered that the procedure is complex and long-term, requiring mutual understanding and constant communication between the lawyer and the Client at all stages of providing the service.
