Situation description
A client who faced a complex legal problem contacted AB “Prіkhodko and Partners”. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, acting in the interests of the state, filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court. The lawsuit concerned the recognition of the client’s assets as unfounded and the recovery of funds in particularly large amounts to the state’s income.
In such a situation, it was necessary to provide comprehensive legal protection for the client, using not only knowledge of the law, but also experience in conducting cases related to anti-corruption activities.
Stages of work on a case regarding unfounded assets
- Situation assessment and conclusion of an agreement
After an initial consultation with the client, the main risks, a protection strategy, and a contract for the provision of legal services were identified and signed. At this stage, our lawyers:

- application of current case law to protect the client’s interests.
The objection was filed with the High Anti-Corruption Court within the established deadlines.
- Processing of additional facts and materials
During the trial, we identified new circumstances that could significantly affect the course of the case. The following actions were taken:
- collection of new evidence confirming the client’s legal position;
- preparation of additional materials justifying the non-application of certain provisions of the law to the client;
- attachment of these materials to the case through the panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
- Obtaining a court decision
As a result, thanks to the clear and professional work of the lawyer of JSB “Prіkhodko and Partners”, the High Anti-Corruption Court ruled to partially satisfy the state’s claim. This result made it possible to:
- reduce the volume of assets that were considered unfounded;
- minimize the client’s losses and preserve part of his assets.
