Grants “eRobota”” – 2024

Active hostilities throughout the territory of Ukraine since February 2022, related to the invasion of the Russian Federation into our country, forever changed the lives of Ukrainians.

In February 2024, the full-scale war will have lasted for 2 years, and during this time the private sector had to go through a lot of tests in order not to close its own business.

Fortunately, the Ukrainian government understood this problem in practice in time and sought to support the economy of Ukraine, for which, accordingly, in July 2022, several state grant programs were created under the general name “eRobota”.

In this informative article, we will talk about the specifics of the grants included in this government program, as well as provide some statistics on their general use.

What is included in the government program “eRobota”?

• Grant “Own business” – is one of those grant programs designed to create new small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine.

Citizens with no experience in entrepreneurial activity, active sole proprietorships, and legal entities can participate in the “Own business” grant program.

The main criteria for applicants are the creation of at least one job, the payment of taxes to the state, and the running of the company’s economic activities within the next three years from the moment of receiving funding. The size of the grant varies from 50,000 to 250,000 hryvnias.

Grant funds can be spent on the purchase of equipment for a future or existing enterprise, the purchase of raw materials, covering the rent of the production premises (but not more than 25% of the received grant amount), leasing equipment;

• Grant for veterans and spouses – designed to support citizens who took part in hostilities, became war veterans, or were disabled in connection with hostilities, as well as their spouses.

The main criteria for potential applicants are to create an appropriate number of jobs corresponding to the amount of the grant received, to properly pay taxes to the budget, and to conduct economic activity for at least three years.

The size of the grant that can be received varies from 250 thousand to 1 million hryvnias.

If a citizen receives the final amount of funding for 250 thousand hryvnias, then he must create at least one workplace, 500 thousand hryvnias – two workplaces, 1 million hryvnias – 4 workplaces, half of which must be occupied by war veterans or disabled people.

Grant funds can be spent on the purchase of a franchise, furniture, various equipment, cars for commercial use, marketing services, and much more;

• Grant for a processing enterprise– designed to support Ukrainian processing enterprises.

Citizens with no experience in entrepreneurial activity, active sole proprietorships, and legal entities can take part in the grant program.

The main criteria for potential applicants are the creation of 25 or more jobs, proper payment of tax payments to the budget, and conducting business activities within 3 years from the moment of receiving grant funds. The size of the grant is up to 8 million hryvnias.

Grant funds can be spent on the purchase of capital equipment for processing production, the commissioning of various equipment, and its delivery to the enterprise;

• Grant “Svoy Sad”– ideal for those citizens who have always dreamed of having their garden.

Both non-profit organizations and legal entities can participate in the grant program. The main criteria for potential applicants are the creation of an appropriate number of jobs depending on the planting of certain crops on a plot of land (garden), correctly paying taxes to the state budget, and conducting economic activity for at least 5 years from the moment of receiving grant funds.

The size of the grant ranges from 140,000 to 400,000 hryvnias, but the financing is no more than 70% of the total cost of the project.

Grant funds can be spent on payment of all invoices issued by suppliers (sellers) of materials or goods for the realization of the ultimate goal of the project;

• Grant “Your Greenhouse”– is a popular solution among citizens who have always wanted to create their modular greenhouse.

Both active FOPs and legal entities can participate. Applicants, in case of receiving grant funds, must create at least 14 new jobs per 1 hectare of a modular greenhouse, provide it with a source of water intake and a proper irrigation system, pay taxes correctly, and conduct business activities within 3 years after the construction of the greenhouse.

The size of the grant depends on the number of hectares on which greenhouses are planned to be built, namely: for 0.4 – 0.6 hectares – 2 million hryvnias; for 0.8 – 1.2 hectares – 3.5 million hryvnias; for 1.6 – 2.4 hectares – 7 million hryvnias. However, funding is limited to 70% of the project cost.

Statistics of grant programs for 2023

In 2023, the Ukrainian government financed about 5 billion hryvnias for business development through the provision of grant programs under the YeRobota project.

In total, more than 8,753 Ukrainian citizens received grants, which created at least 35,000 new jobs in the labor market.

From the beginning of the launch of the “eRobota” project:

• 8,013 micro-grants worth UAH 1.9 billion were issued under the “Own Business” program;
• 487 grants worth UAH 2.5 billion were issued for the development of processing enterprises;
• 133 grants worth UAH 555 million were issued for horticulture and greenhouse development;
• 120 grants worth UAH 45 million were issued to veterans and members of their families.
