Grant for craft production owned by women

The Women's Opportunities in Ukraine Charitable Foundation announces a competition for mini-grants, the acceptance of applications for which will last until November 15, 2025 inclusive. As part of the competition, women's craft industries will be able to receive not only funds for development, but also invaluable experience.  

Women entrepreneurs from different parts of Ukraine who want to strengthen their positions in the market and actively promote products (priority will be given to authentic crafts, in particular pottery), can take part in the grant competition, enlisting the support of our specialists.

What requirements must women's craft production meet to receive a grant?  

To participate, craft production must meet the following criteria:  

• firstly, belong to a woman or several of its co-owners (among the founders, ultimate beneficial owners with decisive influence must be a woman);  
• secondly, be officially registered in accordance with the current national legislation of Ukraine in the form of a sole proprietorship or legal entity;  
• thirdly, it should belong to the craft sector (workshops), in particular, provide for the sale of food products, natural cosmetics, accessories, décor, products of authentic Ukrainian crafts;  
• fourthly, to unite with other craft production to develop partnerships (such a collaboration should have the concept of a common product — a unique brand).  

Business may also be subject to requirements for its business reputation (in terms of good faith in the fulfillment of credit and tax obligations).

How much money can be received for the development of craft production owned by women?  

Each collaboration will be able to receive an average of UAH 50,000 to promote the brand in the market.  

The lion's share of success in obtaining funds will also be played by the level of readiness of the business itself, which belongs to women, to join the start and promotion of the idea.  

The Women's Opportunities in Ukraine Charitable Foundation welcomes its own contributions to the project, in particular in the form of partial cost coverage or the use of its own equipment.  

According to the terms of the grant, what can craft production be spent on?   

The mini-grant should be aimed exclusively at the needs related to the implementation of the project of collaboration between two craft industries of women, in particular:  

1. creation of gift sets;  
2. purchase of branded packaging;  
3. marketing services for promotion;  
4. updating the site or page in social networks;  
5. payment for online advertising;  
6. organization of logistics, etc.  

What do you need to do to get a grant for craft production owned by women?  

The entire procedure for obtaining a grant should consist of the following stages:  

• The first stage is preparation. It is necessary to form a collaboration (find at least one partner who also has craft production), sign a partnership or joint venture agreement, prepare registration documents and a resume of the project manager (may be required by the grantor's representatives) for the next stage. It is also important to check that at the time of submitting the grant application, companies do not have delays in credit and tax obligations, respectively;  
• The second stage is the execution and submission of documents. The main assessment will be the grant application (application form) and the project estimate. It is important that these documents reflect the project concept, goals and desired results of the collaboration, justify the cost part;  
• The third stage is the receipt of results and the signing of an agreement on the provision of grant funds. According to the terms of the grant program, the preliminary results of the competition can already be known to the participants a week after the submission of documents, but no later than November 22, 2025. If the results are positive, then the representatives of the grantor must provide an agreement for review, which will subsequently be signed by the parties. At this stage, we also advise you to involve a qualified lawyer for a preliminary legal analysis of the text of such an agreement.
