A grant of up to 15,000 euros for business development

Micro and small businesses in need of recovery or further development can receive grant funding of up to 15,000 euros.

Therefore, it is possible to apply for participation in this program by December 27, 2024 and receive not only funds for the development of one's own business, but also training, mentoring and expert evaluation of the business strategy chosen by the applicant.

Let's analyze the main requirements, features of submitting and passing the competition for this grant program.

Who can apply to participate?

According to the terms of the grant program, both newly created and existing businesses can participate in the competition. At the same time, startups and social entrepreneurship will have the potential and greater probability of winning.

Grant competition participants must meet the following selection criteria:

• belong to a vulnerable group of the population, in particular, being an IDP, a veteran (WWI or UBD), a person with a disability, a single mother or a single father, a member of a large family, a guardian of a disabled person, etc.;
• be aged from 18 to 59 years;
• be the owner of a business officially registered in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, and belong to a micro or small business (the number of employed people at the applicant should not exceed 10 people for micro and 50 people for small business).

The grant program does not provide for any restrictions on the applicant's field of activity. Therefore, anyone who is engaged in retail trade, production, provision of professional services, etc., can apply.

However, the program directly provides for priority consideration of those businesses that are either innovative or have a social orientation (rehabilitation center, reconstruction of housing destroyed by hostilities, assistance to IDPs, etc.).

What is the procedure for obtaining a grant, its features?

Applicants are given the opportunity not only to receive a grant, but also to undergo training.

The grant program provides an opportunity for the selected candidates (there will be two selections of 25 people each) to participate in an accelerated online program lasting up to two weeks, where the applicant will be able to gain the necessary knowledge in the field of organizational and legal aspects of running a business, improve their own leadership qualities, optimize chosen business model for conducting business and further promotion, etc.

After completing the training, the applicant will have the opportunity to prepare a full-fledged business plan for his project, pass a verification interview with representatives of the grantor and become a finalist of the competition.

The winners, who will be determined based on the results of training and interviews, will be able to receive a grant of up to 15,000 euros (equivalent to 615,000 hryvnias), as well as the possibility of mentoring support from program experts, networking with the possibility of finding partners for cooperation, optimization of business processes.

In order to increase his chances of success, the applicant must comply with a number of conditions.

• First, to foresee the possibility of creating additional jobs and employment for vulnerable population groups.
• Secondly, to clearly argue how business development will help in the restoration of Ukraine, promotion of economic stability of both the region of activity and the entire country.
• Finally, the basis of success in this grant program will lie in the preparation of a high-quality project business plan.
