Apply to the European Court of Human Rights against Russia

The European Court of Human Rights (European Court of Human Rights) is an international judicial body whose jurisdiction extends to all member states of the Council of Europe that have ratified the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

In particular, Ukraine is among the countries that have ratified the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, and therefore citizens of Ukraine have the right to file a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

Russia (RF) also ratified the relevant convention.

And therefore, citizens of any country that ratified the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms had the right to file a complaint against the actions of Russia (Russia) to the ECHR.

In connection with the large-scale invasion of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine, the Council of Europe decided to exclude Russia (Russia) from the Council of Europe, which in turn resulted in the withdrawal of Russia (Russia) from the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

And therefore, on September 16, 2022, Russia (RF) finally withdrew from the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
