How to obtain a veterinary practice licence

To obtain a veterinary licence, you must confirm that the premises, material and technical resources, and specialists comply with the licensing requirements. The requirements depend on the format of the activity — a veterinary station, outpatient clinic or veterinary clinic.

1. Review of the format and premises

We determine the format of the veterinary practice and check whether the premises comply with the requirements applicable to a veterinary station, outpatient clinic or veterinary clinic.

2. Review of equipment and personnel

We analyse the material and technical resources, diplomas and qualifications of veterinary specialists, personnel documents and work organisation.

3. Preparation of documents

Which type of veterinary facility do you need?

The licensing requirements provide for three main types of premises for veterinary practice. The selected format determines the required premises, equipment and the range of veterinary services that may be provided.

Veterinary station

A basic format for providing treatment and preventive care. It must have a specialist’s workstation, areas for storing medicines and instruments, sterilisation facilities and space for utility equipment.

Veterinary outpatient clinic

Designed for outpatient veterinary care and requires a more extensive material and technical base, including a consulting room, sterilisation room and premises for treatment procedures.

Veterinary clinic

Allows both outpatient and inpatient treatment of animals. Additional premises for keeping sick animals and/or an isolation unit are also required.

Yes. A veterinarian operating as a Sole Proprietorship may obtain a veterinary practice licence and officially provide veterinary services.
