GET CYPRUS CITIZENSHIP BY BIRTH

If at the birth of a child her parents have the citizenship of Cyprus, then such a child will automatically be a citizen of Cyprus. Who were born abroad after 16 August 1960 and whose father was a Cypriot citizen at birth, as well as persons born after 11 June 1999 and whose mother was a Cypriot citizen at the time of their birth.

CITIZENS ‘CITIZENSHIP THROUGH MARRIAGE

This method is most often used to obtain citizenship of Cyprus in the future. However, such citizenship can be obtained only after 3 years. In the meantime, the person who got married will have a temporary residence permit.

If your Cypriot spouse lives abroad, you are also entitled to Cypriot citizenship after marriage for at least 3 years. In this case, the couple must provide an explanatory letter and indicate the good reasons why they obtain Cypriot citizenship.

If the couple has been married for 5 years and has at least one child together, no explanation is required.

GETTING CITIZENSHIP THROUGH NATURALIZATION

Citizenship can be obtained in this case if the person has resided in Cyprus for 7 years before the date of application for citizenship.

Grounds for obtaining citizenship through naturalization:

• Stay on the basis of a temporary residence permit “pink slip”
• Purchase of real estate category F
• Starting a business and doing business (business – immigration)
• Family reunification
• Corporate transfer of employees to Cyprus and their official employment

Buying real estate, investing or starting a business in Cyprus are the main grounds used by foreigners to quickly and guaranteed a residence permit and citizenship of Cyprus.

In addition, under the investment programs, a candidate for Cypriot citizenship does not have to reside in Cyprus, it is enough to come to Cyprus once every two years to maintain status and fulfill other conditions of the program.

The application fee is also paid upon receipt of the naturalization certificate. If a person has reached 18 years of age – is 2,000 euros – application, receipt of a certificate – 5,000 euros.
