Without a permit, a person can work if he has Bulgarian roots for any job, wants to do seasonal work – up to 90 days in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, hotels and restaurants in Bulgaria without a break for 12 months. This requires registration at the employment center on the basis of a declaration submitted by the employer.

If Ukrainians are in the territory of Bulgaria and have applied in accordance with the Bulgarian law on asylum and refugees in Bulgaria have international protection and the proceedings against them have not been closed within three months, then they have open access to the labor market and can work in the territory of Bulgaria without additional permission
