How to register a disability for a child in Ukraine?

The process of registering a child's disability

First of all, contact your family or specialist doctor. He will conduct a full medical examination of the child and, if necessary, refer him to the medical advisory commission (MAC).

The doctor prepares and submits the necessary documents to the MAC, including medical reports, examination results and other confirmation of the child's health. Prepare for the MAC examination, note all violations of the child's body functions observed in the everyday conditions of his life.

MAC considers the submitted documents and makes a decision on establishing disability.

There are two categories:

• "Child with disabilities" - with a moderate or average degree of health loss.
• "Child with disabilities of subgroup A" - with an exceptionally high degree of health loss and complete dependence on external care.

After making a decision, MAC provides a conclusion, which is the basis for registering social payments and other benefits.

Important! During the martial law period, it is possible to establish disability in absentia without the child's personal presence at the commission. So if you need help in forming a group or consultation, contact lawyers.
