Video - Write-off of interest and penalties on loans for wives/men of military personnel
Did you know that a military man's wife has the right to write off interest on a loan? The updated legislation provides the right to write off loans and interest and applies to military units called up for service during mobilization from February 24, 2022, except for military personnel serving under a contract.
Step-by-step procedure for writing off interest on a loan
To exercise the right to write off loans and interest, military wives must complete the following steps:
- Submit a written application to the creditor bank, indicating the purpose of the application and its reason.
- Add to the application a copy of the document confirming the man's military service. This may be a certificate from a military unit, a copy of a military ID, or another official document.
- If necessary, provide additional documents at the request of the bank. However, it is important that the bank clearly justifies why additional documents are needed.
