At the moment, this is a very common question among foreign citizens who have remained on the territory of Ukraine.
On March 18, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 259 "On Certain Issues of Implementation of Legislative Acts in the Field of Migration for the Period of the Installation of Quarantine All Over Ukraine" was adopted.

It should be noted that the provisions of the decree apply exclusively to persons who, at the time of the start of quarantine (March 12, 2020), had legal grounds for applying for an extension of the period of stay in Ukraine and / or for registration, exchange of a permanent or temporary residence permit.

☝️What does the ordinance establish?

Temporarily, for the period of the installation of quarantine throughout Ukraine and within 30 days from the date of its cancellation, to foreigners and stateless persons who violated the legislation in the field of migration in terms of their failure to comply with the period of stay on the territory of Ukraine or registration, exchange of a form for permanent or temporary residence, if such violations occurred during or as a result of the establishment of quarantine, administrative measures are not applied. This means that violators will not be subject to fines or other sanctions.

☝️What to do in such a situation?

According to the decree, foreigners and stateless persons who could not leave Ukraine or, in accordance with the established procedure, apply to the territorial bodies / divisions of the State Migration Service with an application for extending the period of stay in Ukraine and / or for registration, exchange of a permanent or temporary residence permit in connection with the establishment of quarantine, or if the deadline for processing such documents has come during the period of the installation of quarantine throughout Ukraine, within 30 days from the date of cancellation of quarantine, they apply in accordance with the established procedure to the territorial bodies / divisions of the State Migration Service to extend the period of stay for the territory of Ukraine or registration, exchange of a type for permanent or temporary residence.
