Why did you choose this particular idea? Do you have experience in this field? How do you know people need what you do?

The idea to create a marketplace of standardized legal services appeared after clients started asking whether it is possible to get the service mentioned in the consultation, as well as after analyzing the competitive environment and analyzing the demand for such services in search engines. In addition, after conducting a survey, we found out that when it is necessary to obtain a legal service, a person turns to 2-3 specialists and then chooses one of them, which significantly worsens the possibility of choosing a high-quality provider of services. The co-founders of the project are lawyers, one of them with enormous experience in the field of law.

What's new in what you do? What substitutes do people resort to?

We took into account the needs of people and service providers.

After asking a question in the mobile application, a person will be consulted by several lawyers at once, and after that, based on the results of the consultations, our system will automatically select and offer the necessary service, as well as several performers who are ranked according to the internal rating system. We have implemented a secure agreement that guarantees the security of payments for both parties. Services are divided into stages, this allows the client to pay in parts, and the lawyer to receive remuneration immediately after closing the stage, instead of the whole service. In Ukraine, through integration with Diya.Signature, we plan to create conditions in which the parties will be able to cooperate remotely, without wasting time on meetings.

Most people use traditional methods of obtaining legal services - visiting a law firm or contacting a self-employed lawyer.

Who are your competitors and who can become competitors? Who are you most afraid of?

Competitors are online services that are built on the auction principle and allow people to place their orders freely, for example, Lawyer.ua, B2bconsuslt, Kabanchik.ua. They do not provide performance guarantees, do not monitor performance and quality. In addition, on such services, in many cases, the sale of the service is based on the "feedback" system.

Also, our competitors are legal companies and self-employed lawyers, but in the near future they may turn into our clients-partners, because we will provide them as clients.

The most powerful competitors that provide services in one way or another are Rocketlawyer (USA) and Legalzoom (UK), but CONSULTANT has much more advantages and is developing rapidly, the only thing that worries us is the recognizable brand of these competitors.

What do you understand better than other similar companies?

  1. The client wants to pay for the result, not for the execution process.
  2. There are non-standard ways to attract clients in the B2C legal segment, such as partnerships with giants (banks, insurance companies, etc.).
  3. Digitalization will not bypass even the conservative legal market, and we want to lead the digitalization process in our industry.
  4. Working under martial law forces you to work remotely - we create space for this.

How do you earn money? How much can you earn?

The service provides three monetization models:

  1. commission from each transaction.
  2. sale of standard documents.
  3. advertising for lawyers.

According to Google statistics, about 1.5 million requests for legal services are received in Ukraine every year. We took into account the services that will be standardized by our platform. And this is about 150,000 services per year or 10 million dollars.

We also plan to monetize users who are attracted through affiliate referral programs. For example, given the fact that our partner has 800,000 car owners, potentially each of them may need legal advice, which will end in an offer to purchase the service. Essentially, this creates an affiliate market equal to about $56 million.


How to attract users?

We have two channels of user engagement – active and passive.

Passive channels

  • Referral system (referrals from partners; free consultation or $1 per account).
  • Organic publishing - SEO (1. Articles are published automatically; 2. An algorithm has been implemented that allows all specialists to publish thematic articles, provided that they meet the specified parameters: uniqueness, inclusion of automatically selected keywords in the text and other seo requirements).
  • Overview of the most widespread legal problems (benefits, housing, transport, etc.) in social networks.

Active channels

  • Facebook/Instagram/Google Ads – advertising for individual products
  • Counseling by phone by support lawyers

General brand promotion:

  • Advertising on television
  • Offline advertising (metro, billboards, places of large crowds)
  • Advertising on YouTube

During pricing experiments, it was found that low-cost consultations were less popular among users than medium-cost consultations. At the same time, the response of lawyers to the opportunity to consult a person and compete for 100 or 200 hryvnias as a reward is the same. This shows that lawyers are willing to work for both low and, if not average, rates, and clients tend to pay an average price for what they get. That is, it provides an opportunity to increase the margin of products on our service.
