Reading time: 4 min.

One of the most urgent issues at the moment are those related to military service, in particular, regarding the granting of deferments from military service. The list of documents that are required to receive a deferment from the army depends on the basis for receiving the deferment.

Due to family circumstances

In order to receive a deferment due to family circumstances, the following documents must be submitted:

  • an application for a postponement;
  • extracts from the register of territorial communities of conscripts and their family members who live together;
  • information about the presence of minor children (a copy of the birth certificate) or parents with disabilities of group I or II;
  • documents confirming family relationships (copies of birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.).

According to the state of health

In order to receive a postponement due to the state of health, the following documents must be submitted:

  • an application for a postponement;
  • a certificate on the results of a medical examination issued by the military medical commission;
  • a copy of the disability certificate, if you have a disability.

To get an education

In order to receive a deferment for obtaining an education, the following documents must be submitted:

  • an application for a postponement;
  • a certificate of enrollment in a higher educational institution of the I-IV levels of accreditation or of studying in a vocational and technical educational institution under full-time or dual forms of education;
  • extract from the order on enrollment in full-time studies.

Other grounds for postponement

  • a copy of the court decision on the appointment of a guardian;
  • documents confirming the presence of a child with a disability or a patient with a serious illness without establishing a disability group;
  • a certificate of receipt of compensation for care;
  • documents confirming the reservation for the period of mobilization;
  • other documents depending on the reasons for obtaining a deferral.

In addition to the listed documents, Territorial center of procurement and social support may require the provision of other documents that confirm the grounds for obtaining a deferral.

All documents that are submitted to receive a deferment must be properly completed and contain all the necessary information. If copies of documents are submitted, it is better if they are notarized (although the law does not require this).

Importantly! Documents confirming the grounds for obtaining a deferment must be issued by the competent authorities and have appropriate seals and signatures.

If you are not sure what documents need to be submitted to receive a deferment, you should contact a lawyer for advice.
