VISA D TO HUNGARY

Reading time: 3 min.

When a person visiting Schengen countries wants to stay in one of these states for more than 90 days within a 180-day period, the conditions depend on the legislation of each of them. There is no single practice that would determine such an order. So let's get acquainted with how this issue is resolved in Hungary. When a foreigner wishes to stay in this country for a long time, he must apply for a permit. If the answer is yes, he will be issued a one-time visa D, which will allow him to stay in Hungary for 30 days. To obtain a permit, you need to visit one of the directorates of the National Immigration Department.

In what order does the procedure take place?

It is necessary to personally come to the Hungarian diplomatic mission to provide biometric data. It's about photos and fingerprints. As for prints, this requirement does not apply to children under 6 years of age.

The Schengen Agreement and Regulation 265/2010/EU establish that a foreigner who has been issued a D visa for a long-term stay by any country of the Schengen area may, for 3 months during any six-month period, travel to the countries of that area under the same conditions as has a residence permit holder.

What documents are submitted to obtain this visa?

To get a visa, you need:

  • fill out the questionnaire according to the established requirements;
  • provide a color photo of 3.5 x 4.5 cm (the date of the photo should not be older than 6 months);
  • add all the necessary permits, proof of residence and a document confirming housing.

You also need to take care of insurance in the amount of 30,000 euros or more, which will be valid throughout the Schengen area.

What are D visas?

Visa D is a fairly broad category of visas that can be:

  • seasonal workers;
  • workers;
  • educational;
  • visas required for family reunification;
  • visas for a visit (in response to an official invitation);
  • visas for travel for treatment;
  • visas for visiting for research purposes;
  • visas for volunteer activities.

It is very important to correctly decide on the type of D visa that will be optimal for you. It is this criterion that governs the list of documents that will need to be submitted together with the completed application form and the basic list that you could familiarize yourself with above.
