Other categories of citizens (e.g., volunteers, students) receive a residence permit if their applications are supported by a written request from the central executive body of Ukraine, which is responsible for the activities of such persons.

What documents do I need to apply for a residence permit?

• foreign passport (with translation);
• medical insurance;
• if necessary, a D visa;
• other documents, the list of which is determined by the specific grounds for issuing a residence permit.

The period for issuing a residence permit depends on its type. When it comes to a document that provides for the right to temporary residence on the territory of Ukraine, such a residence permit is issued within 15 working days from the date of submission of the documents. If it is a permanent residence permit, it can take up to 6 months to obtain it.
