RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR A FOREIGNER

In this case, Ukrainian legislation requires both registration and issuance of a temporary or permanent residence permit.

Actually, the procedure of registration of foreigners is easy and fast, but you should not neglect it and its requirements. The very procedure of registration of foreign guests goes through the Center for the provision of administrative services at the place of residence of the foreigner. In turn, the service can be applied for either by a foreigner personally or by a person entrusted with this, who has a documented right to represent the interests of a foreign citizen.

The next step is to submit documents for registration.

In advance, a foreigner or his legal representative must prepare the following package of documents:

• First of all, you need to prepare a completed application for the registration of a foreigner at his place of residence, submit a document containing information about your place of residence.
• No less important documents are those that can confirm your legal right to live in one or another housing (for example, documents on housing ownership or rent/hire/sublease).

If you do not have these documents, you will need to obtain the official consent of the owner or co-owners of the home for your registration. But, in order to obtain consent, you should first personally contact the center for the provision of administrative services and obtain a notarization of this consent.

An important aspect is: if you rent housing, then in this case the registration is issued and valid for the duration of the housing lease. That is, when you decide to leave or move to another residence, your registration will be removed and then this procedure will have to be started all over again.

Also, you, as a foreigner, should know the aspects of deregistration of the place of residence. Removal from the place of registration or the end of registration occurs when:

• The person died (a very primitive and understandable reason).

The following grounds for withdrawal are:

• when a person personally or through a legal representative submits an application of the specified form.
• a person is removed from the place of registration when a legal decision on the termination of the person's right to ownership of housing, or on the eviction of the person, or if the person was recognized as missing has entered into force.
• on the grounds of termination of validity of documents confirming the legality of a foreigner's stay in Ukraine.
