How much does it cost to register a trademark?

   On June 14, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued its resolution of June 12, 2019, No. 496 "On Amendments to the Decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 27, 2001 No. 1756 and December 23, 2004 No. 1716", in which the size of fees for registration of intellectual property objects. In particular, the resolution stipulates raising fees for registration of patents, trademarks, copyrights.

   From now on, registration of a trademark (sign) costs 4 000 UAH instead of 1 000 UAH. for one class in which your TM is registered. Another 4 000 UAH will have to be paid for each additional class. It is worth paying attention to an interesting innovation - for the use of the word "Ukraine" in TM will have to pay 24 000 UAH. Only for such use, other payments will also have to be paid.

   Also, patent gains have risen in price. If earlier, the fee for maintaining the validity of the patent began at 300 hryvnas and stood at 3800 after the fifteenth year, then now the amount starts from 600 and reaches 30,400 hryvnas in the twenty-fifth year of possession of the patent. But as before, the inventors can only pay a small share - 10% for the inventors or 20% for the creators of a utility model or industrial design.
