Reading time: 2 min.

As of April 1, the Government issued a decision to amend Resolution № 168 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 28, 2022, namely "Issues of certain payments to military personnel, rank-and-file and senior officers, police officers and their families during martial law." The introduced changes guarantee the possibility for servicemen (or their relatives) to receive payments for monetary assistance (or to receive payments to the families of fallen soldiers).

In accordance with the changes, the following categories of persons subject to the scope of payments can be noted:

  • In connection with an injury related to the defense of the Motherland, are undergoing inpatient treatment in health care facilities, including the time of transfer from one hospital to another, or are on leave for treatment after a serious injury based on the conclusion of a military - medical commission;
  • Persons captured or taken hostage, as well as interned in neutral states or missing;
  • For persons who died or died as a result of injuries or wounds received - for the entire month in which the person died.

If a serviceman during martial law was injured in connection with the defense of the Motherland, he deserves appropriate payments in the amount of up to UAH 100,000. for the entire time of continuous stay at inpatient treatment in medical care facilities (as well as foreign ones), for the time of a serviceman's stay on sick leave in accordance with the decree of the military medical commission.

Unaccountably missing persons or persons in captivity are not deprived of payments based on official salary or rank, these payments are received by family members of the serviceman, families will receive financial support every month for the entire time that the person maintains this status.

In case of death of a serviceman, it is possible to receive assistance from the state in the amount of 15 million hryvnias. This payment will be distributed among all members of the deceased's family. Family members of the deceased are determined in accordance with the rules of the Family Code of Ukraine, while dependents are determined in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On pension provision of persons discharged from military service and certain other persons". If one of the relatives refuses to receive financial assistance, then this share will be distributed among all other relatives who have rights and did not refuse to receive it. Refusal to receive financial assistance must be notarized in accordance with the legal procedure.

To receive assistance, you need to contact the place of service of a military serviceman or the authorized structural subdivision of state bodies, which are entrusted with the functions of preparing the necessary documents.
