What is a medical certificate of incapacity for work for?
A medical certificate of temporary incapacity for work (MCT) is an electronic document provided for by law that certifies the fact of a patient's temporary loss of working capacity. It is formed by an authorized doctor in the Ministry of Health system and is the only basis for creating an electronic certificate of incapacity for work.
Since October 1, 2021, the issuance of a MCT has replaced paper sick leaves, which has given the document official status and defined it as mandatory evidence for receiving insurance payments and confirming the employee's rights to be released from work duties for the period of treatment.
Where can I check a medical certificate of incapacity for work?
The most convenient way is to use the Diya portal. There is a special verification service there. To view the document, you must:
- log in to the portal using an electronic signature (CEP) / BankID;
- enter the MVTN number, identification code and passport or ID card data;
- click the "Find" button.
As a result, you will receive all the information: the type and date of creation of the conclusion, its number, validity period, as well as the healthcare institution that generated it.
It should also be noted that since it is on the basis of the MVTN that an electronic certificate of incapacity for work is generated, you can also check the status of the document in the personal account of the insured person on the PFU portal.
How to issue a document on incapacity for work?
To obtain an electronic sick leave, the patient must contact a doctor. After the examination, the specialist forms an MVTN, and the patient receives an SMS with his number. If the information has not been received, you need to clarify the contact phone number and repeat the authentication.
The formed conclusion automatically enters the electronic register, on the basis of which an e-sick leave is created. The Pension Fund also informs about its opening by notification, and the validity of the document can be checked independently in the personal account on the PFU portal or in the mobile application.
After that, the employee informs the employer about the period of incapacity for work, providing the sick leave number. The employer sees it in his insured person's account on the PFU portal and after closing the sick leave makes a payment within 7 days.
