MARRIAGE WITH A MILITARY

Marrying a loved one is one of the happiest moments in everyone's life. So, after submitting an application for marriage registration, couples in love wait, as a rule, for a month for the day when they can officially become one family. I want to spend this day with my significant other and share positive emotions with family and friends. But now, due to the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, unfortunately, not everyone has such an opportunity.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that many women have been forced to leave their homes and are in other regions or even abroad, while their military servicemen husbands are protecting the country at the front.

Therefore, the question of how to marry a military serviceman in the conditions of martial law is quite often raised, since often it is military servicemen who cannot be present at this event.

Thanks to the rapid development of technology, this issue is now easy to solve, since in recent years digitalization has taken a significant step forward, and we have the opportunity to communicate, solve work issues remotely, as well as contact government authorities by sending emails, requests, etc.

Today, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 64 "On maintaining martial law in Ukraine", the state has developed its own marriage registration procedure for military personnel.

So, the first step for concluding a marriage remotely is to submit a corresponding application to the commander by a serviceman. In this application, it is necessary to indicate information about yourself and the bride (groom).

As for the other groom (other bride), who is not in the combat zone and is not a military serviceman, he must submit such an application for state registration in person either to the civil status registration department, or to the commander or head of the military serviceman in the event that the above the department does not work due to hostilities.

The commander, in turn, must attest to the authenticity of the signature on the application and send it to the relevant department of the DRATS, where the application has already been submitted by another groom (bride), or to another department of the DRATS or to the territorial body of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which conducts activities during the military state

A positive point is that the marriage can be concluded online as well, namely through video communication, if the bride and groom have such an opportunity.

Moreover, considering the state of war in the country, the commander of a military serviceman has the right to certify the very fact of marriage registration with the appropriate act of marriage. Such an act must be drawn up on the day of receipt of the application for registration of marriage to the Department of the Civil Registry Office.

However, unfortunately, in practice, problems may arise with the commander sending the original documents of the Act to the relevant authorities directly from the combat zone, so one of the important tips is to photograph the compiled document, scan it or involve witnesses to this process. Moreover, you can send a scan copy or photo directly to the e-mail address of the DRATS department.

However, if you don't want to get married remotely, you can get married the traditional way.
