HOW TO GET A RELATIONSHIP FROM THE MILITARY UNIT?

Reading time: 3 min.

Today, all issues related to military service are more relevant than ever. After all, the normative documents regulating the procedure for completing the service, issuing documents by military units and recruitment centers often change. And for military personnel and their family members, it is worth understanding how to get this or that document, who to contact and in what time frame it can be done. One of these documents is a report from the military unit.

Relation from a military unit is a document on the basis of which a serviceman can be transferred from one unit to another. In other words, it is a document that allows you to make a transfer.

In what cases is a relationship necessary?

Most often, the relationship is necessary in the case when a serviceman, due to his health or family situation, must serve at his place of residence. That is, if the service takes place in another region, and the serviceman has the right to perform it at his place of residence, then a relationship is required from the military unit at the place of residence. This is a kind of confirmation that the military unit at the place of residence is ready to accept and enlist such a serviceman and there is a place for him in such a unit.

What legal document regulates this?

The procedure for obtaining the status and transfer in the service is regulated by the Regulation on the completion of military service by citizens of Ukraine in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, approved by the decree of the President of Ukraine dated December 10, 2008  № 1153/2008.

How to get a relationship?

Relations from the military unit can be obtained by contacting the commander of the military unit directly with the appropriate report. In the report, it is necessary to justify the reasons for which this relationship is necessary, as well as, if possible, to provide supporting documents (for example, a certificate of residence of a family raising three minor children).

The unit commander must consider such a report and issue a report to the serviceman, which will be required for transfer in the future.

Refusal to provide a relationship

There are quite a few cases when a serviceman is denied access, or the report is considered by the commander of a military unit for months. In this case, it is worth paying attention to clause 110 of the Disciplinary Statute. According to which servicemen are not deprived of the right to file complaints in case of violation of their rights.

Recommendations

When submitting any report, you should familiarize yourself with your rights in detail. After all, the more reasonable the document, the fewer grounds for rejecting it the commander of the military unit will have. And military law lawyers will always help to understand the legislative subtleties related to military service. Quality legal support is a feeling of legal protection regardless of the situation.
