Grants for public organizations and charitable foundations are one of the key tools for implementing social projects, including those for the country's recovery, veteran reintegration, assistance to other vulnerable categories of the population, etc.

Projects aimed at increasing the resilience of the population, proposed by non-profit organizations, cover a wide range of activities.

Grant funding will be available to those that contribute to the psychological, economic, and social resilience of citizens. More details on this are in the article below.

What criteria are put forward for a grant participant supporting projects to increase population resilience?

To apply for the grant, the organization must meet three key requirements:

  • First, the organization's activities are focused within one of the permitted regions, specifically Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, or Sumy;
  • Second, the organization is officially registered as a non-profit or belongs to one of the following categories: local self-government bodies, as well as communal institutions and enterprises;
  • Third, the public organization or communal institution proposes a project for implementation that is focused on creating long-term alliances (e.g., energy independence initiatives) or strengthening the internal resources of a specific community (including through improving the quality of service provision).

Please note! In addition to the above, the grant provider's representatives will also pay attention to the experience in implementing similar projects, the qualifications of the team involved in implementing the respective initiative, as well as the realism of the budget itself.

For more detailed information, we suggest ordering a consultation with our manager.

In what areas should the project of Public Organizations and Charitable Foundations for increasing population resilience be implemented?

To have priority in the competition, the project proposed by the respective non-profit organization must address one of the following areas:

  1. Veteran reintegration (return to civilian life after discharge from military service);
  2. Strategic community recovery during the war (including through supporting small business in the craft production sector);
  3. Strengthening energy carrier autonomy (transition to "green energy");
  4. Development of inclusivity in the region (creation of a reliable and safe space for citizens with disabilities, including those caused by the war);
  5. Preservation of cultural heritage sites (including through their restoration).

What is required for participation in the grant for Public Organizations and Charitable Foundations supporting projects to increase population resilience?

Participants who prepare a quality package of documents can submit a grant application.

The following documentation will be included:

  • grant proposal (description of the project of the Public Organization, Charitable Foundation, or communal institution);
  • project budget;
  • registration documents of the organization or institution (extract from the register, charter);
  • team documents (confirmation of previous experience, qualifications);
  • letters of support from other organizations, cooperation agreements (if available);
  • other documents upon request by the grant provider's representative.

Important to know! The specified documents must be prepared and submitted to the grant competition by April 15, 2026, inclusive. It is desirable not to submit on the last day, but at least a few days before the deadline. This is because if the grant provider's representative has comments, there will be an opportunity to correct the shortcomings of the submitted grant application in a not-too-short timeframe.

How much funding can Public Organizations, Charitable Foundations, and other participants in the grant competition receive?

Depending on the chosen area of project implementation and the realistic description in the budget, Public Organizations, Charitable Foundations, or other non-profit organizations can apply for from 50,000 to 500,000 Hryvnias.

Such funds can only be spent on the areas described in the budget, including:

  1. Organizing a series of training sessions;
  2. Purchasing specialized equipment;
  3. Paying for the work of invited specialists (e.g., psychologists);
  4. Creating and equipping veteran hubs, etc.

FAQ

How long does the grant application review usually take to determine the winners?

Applications submitted by April 15 will receive an initial assessment in early May.

After this, if the application has passed the first stage and does not require additional documents from the applicant, the results may tentatively be known in June or July.

Can a newly established public organization or charitable foundation receive a grant?

Yes, such organizations also have the right to participate. However, there is a high probability that they will not be considered beyond the possibility of receiving up to 100,000 Hryvnias.

Applicants who already have some experience in implementing projects can count on a larger award.

What exactly can grant funds be spent on for the project to increase population resilience?

The grant covers the organization’s direct expenses for the implementation of the initiative, including the purchase of equipment, payment for the work of engaged specialists, rental of premises for events, and administrative expenses (communication, logistics, etc.).

The latter should not exceed 20% of the grant proposal.

Can Prikhodko and Partners Law Company guarantee the success of a grant application?

Unfortunately, grants are always about competition and the ability to interest people in your project.

Our managers can guarantee the adaptation of the idea to the grant provider’s requirements (as far as possible), the preparation of the package of documents in the correct order, and quality preparation for the interview with the grant provider, but not the victory itself.
