As of today, the USAID grant program "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" (KEU) is operating in Ukraine, which aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine, as well as to contribute to the increase of personnel, innovation and export potential of Ukrainian business through the implementation of measures lasting up to 10 months aimed at preserving and creating new jobs, as well as cooperating with state authorities and educational institutions.

What are the criteria for applicants who can participate in the program?

• Applicants who plan to submit applications must be registered non-governmental (public) organizations or privately owned SMEs, be officially established, have a good business reputation, and also not violate the provisions of the regulatory legal acts of Ukraine.
• The number of employees at the enterprise or organization must be at least 250 people. In addition, the company's annual capital must be at least 50 million euros.
• An organization or enterprise has the right to submit no more than one application under this program;
• The organization or enterprise must demonstrate an effective system of company management, measures to detect and eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse of authority by employees of the legal entity, as well as convince the grantor that the funds received will be used to achieve the goals and objectives of the program. Before making a decision to award each grant, the KEU program will evaluate such applicants' capabilities.
• To receive grant funds under this program, grantees will be required to provide a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number at the time of grant award.
• If the applicant has never received assistance from USAID KEU before and meets the above selection criteria, the chances of successfully receiving grant funds increase.

In addition to receiving grant funds under the program, the applicant will also work with the grantor to create its own marking and branding of the company.

What amounts are included in the program?

The number of grantees provided by the program is 20 people. The amount of grant funding will vary from $35,000 to $150,000.

What are the application deadlines?

Applications will be considered in 3 stages:

• Stage 1 - until August 28, 2023
• Stage 2 - until October 16, 2023
• Stage 3 - until December 1, 2023
