COMPENSATION TO MILITARY SERVANTS FOR DISABILITY

Protecting the Motherland is an honorable duty, but often its fulfillment during martial law is accompanied by a great risk to life and health. What legal acts regulate this issue?

The procedure and conditions for awarding compensation for disability are regulated by the relevant Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of December 25, 2013 № 975. It states that if the disability occurred as a result of the performance of military duties, then Group I provides for payment in the amount of 400 times the subsistence minimum (1,073,600 hryvnias) . As for the II group of disability, in this case, a payment in the amount of 300 times the subsistence minimum (805,200 hryvnias) is provided. And if a serviceman received a disability of the III group, then this is about 250 times the subsistence minimum (671,000 hryvnias). This applies to cases of combat missions.

Payment is also provided if a serviceman falls ill or has an accident while performing his duties. This refers to all cases, except for term service. The amount of payments is as follows:

• In case of disability of the 1st group - 120 times the lived minimum.
• In case of disability of the II group - 90 times the lived minimum.
• With a disability of the III group - 70 times the lived minimum.

If we are talking about the completion of military service, training, inspection or special fees for reservists, the amount of payments is provided for identically, but this issue is regulated by other legal norms. That is why there is a certain distinction here.
