Combat payments of the Armed Forces
For every serviceman, in addition to the internal incentive to defend the state, financial support is equally important. For servicemen who directly participate in the performance of combat tasks, "combat" is paid.
Combat payments are funds accrued to military personnel for the performance of assigned combat tasks and tasks.
Do they count as combatants?
Combat payments are taken into account in proportion to the completed tasks for the reporting period, that is, places. The financial part of the military unit calculates combat payments based on commanders' orders to participate in combat missions. That is, it is wrong to believe that servicemen who are on the front line will receive 100,000 hryvnias. This amount may be less, it is precisely related to the number of completed combat missions in places. It should also be emphasized that these payments depend on the command and the correctness of entering combat orders.
Is it regulated?
The issue of accrual and payment of combatants is regulated in detail by Resolution of the CMU № 168 of February 28, 2022.
Delay in combat payments
In practice, situations often arise that servicemen receive "combat" with a significant delay. First of all, this is due to the fact that documents confirming the participation of a serviceman in military operations are not submitted to the financial department on time. Accordingly, the financial part cannot calculate the amount due. In such situations, it is worth contacting the immediate commander to clarify the situation regarding the withholding of payments or the hotline of the Ministry of Defense.
Can combat payments be withdrawn?
Another question that concerns active military personnel. After all, often in the event of non-compliance with combat orders, the military receives an explanation from the commanders that combat funds have been withdrawn.
There is a list of circumstances that allow additional (combat) compensation to be withdrawn from a serviceman, including:
- Voluntary abandonment of a military unit or place of service;
- Refusal to perform a combat mission;
- Voluntary surrender to the enemy;
- Consumption of alcoholic beverages or narcotic substances while on duty;
- Application of administrative or criminal liability to servicemen.
That is, for committing the actions listed above, combat pay may be withdrawn from a serviceman.
Therefore, if there are still questions about the calculation and payment of combat pay, or you do not understand or do not agree with the reason for the withdrawal of combat pay, seek qualified help from military lawyers. After all, during the war, military personnel deserve a decent financial support.
