Nowadays, having Ukrainian citizenship is important for everyone. • Case 1. If the parents are citizens of Ukraine and are in Ukraine, they apply to any DRATS body and receive a birth certificate of the child in which the citizenship will be indicated.
• Case 2. Parents of a newborn child or a stateless person. Such parents need to apply to the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with an application for the child's acquisition of Ukrainian citizenship by birth. If the child of foreign citizens did not acquire citizenship by birth, then foreigners must submit a corresponding declaration.

If the child was born outside the country, then the parents or one of the parents should contact the diplomatic or consular office in the country where they are located and register the fact of the child's birth. Such registration is free of charge, no consular fee is charged for it.

During registration, the child's origin is determined based on the parents' documents and his citizenship is indicated.
