CERTIFICATION OF PERSONAL CERTIFICATE WITHOUT CITIZEN

 At a time when the issue of granting Ukrainians the right to dual citizenship is being actively raised, other people are interested in obtaining at least one, since they are in a stateless state. The reasons for this may be different, for example, a person voluntarily renounced his “native” citizenship, lost it or was deprived of it in the manner prescribed by law, or when the person did not apply for citizenship on the basis of birth, and there is no automatic acquisition in this country .

 Such people have the right to acquire the status of a stateless person and to issue a stateless person certificate. The presence of this document will provide an opportunity to travel freely around the world and work in other countries.

 The requirements for persons entitled to obtain a stateless person certificate are clearly stipulated by the legislation of Ukraine. For example, a person’s age must be at least 16 years old (the exception is the situation when a certificate must be obtained before the age of 16 due to an illness, the requirement of the state to which a person needs to travel, participation in international organizations.)

 Procedurally issuing a certificate of a stateless person implies a personal submission of documents to the relevant state body. The term for issuing a certificate is 10 working days, but the period may be reduced to 3 working days, due to the existence of grounds for this provided by law. The certificate is issued for a period of 3 years, with the possibility of renewal. Also, the document is subject to recovery in case of loss, theft or unusability. If a person is not in Ukraine at the time of the expiration of the validity of the stateless person’s certificate, he or she can contact the embassy or consular office of Ukraine to obtain a person’s certificate of return to Ukraine.
