CERTIFICATE OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE FOR OBTAINING CITIZENSHIP OF UKRAINE

For the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language", in the summer of 2021, a new state body was created - the National Commission for State Language Standards, the main function of which is to develop and monitor the implementation of Ukrainian language standards, create methods for checking the level of proficiency state language.

After the adoption of this Law and the creation of the Commission, some innovations were introduced in the process of obtaining citizenship of Ukraine. All people who reveal a desire to be admitted to the citizenship of Ukraine must pass an exam for knowledge of the Ukrainian language and provide a confirmation certificate, which is localized in the Register of State Certificates on the level of Ukrainian language proficiency.

The procedure for obtaining it is prescribed on the official website of the Commission and is open to the public.

This exam can be taken only in one place in Ukraine - in Kyiv, on the basis of the Commission, by pre-registering on the website for the exam and creating your own personal account. At the time of passing the exam, you need to have the original passport of your country, a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test for COVID 19.

To create a personal account, you need an e-mail and a Ukrainian phone number. The easiest way is to create / enter this electronic account through Privat 24, activating it via SMS in the application.

Registration for the exam is possible only if some efforts are made, detailed and constant monitoring of information on the official website of the Commission, since the publication of places for exams is not so frequent and an average of 6-8 exams can be held per month.

If you cannot score a passing score the first time, you can retake the exam no earlier than after 4 months.

The exam itself has 4 blocks. The blocks are grouped in turn into two groups. The first group combines "Listening" and "Reading", the second - "Writing" and "Saying".

For Listening and Reading, you can score a maximum of 43 tasks and 1 hour is given for execution. The writing part can be completed with a maximum of 33 points in 40 minutes, and the statement - 42 points in 20 minutes. After passing the exam on the computer monitor, you can see the percentage of correct and incorrect answers.

The certificate itself will be generated within 5 working days from the date of passing the exam. It is also possible to obtain an extract from the Register for this certificate, it can be ordered via the link, which will be visible when the certificate is ready.
